About the consortium
The Spring consortium comprises Deloitte, Innovation Unit and Mutual Ventures; three organisations with a compelling breadth and depth of skills, knowledge, insight, ideas, energy and passion for the sector.
Each organisation has significant experience working in the sector, recent examples include:
- Deloitte was the strategic partner to the National College and Virtual Staff College in delivering the Director of Children’s Services (DCS) and aspirant DCS leadership programmes, which supported 136 DCSs and 146aspiring DCSs. Deloitte is currently supporting authorities thinking about alternative delivery models for social care services – including work with the DfE in setting up the Children’s Trust in Doncaster
- Innovation Unit was strategic partner to Nesta in delivering the national Transforming Early Years programme, which developed different, better, lower cost models of support for families with young children. Innovation Unit is currently working with local authorities and major charities in the UK, and internationally, to scale this work
- Mutual Ventures are specialists in developing alternative delivery models for public services, including local authority owned companies, joint ventures and public service mutuals. Mutual Ventures were the lead provider to the Cabinet Office’s mutual support programme and have led a number of highly regarded innovation projects including Achieving for Children in Richmond and Kingston.
The Spring Consortium was appointed as delivery partner to the DfE in June 2014.
