North of Tyne Collaboration

Project start date: January 2018

We (North of Tyne Councils) were awarded £1.145m to explore opportunities for greater collaboration across services for children, young people and families. The councils will work with partners, including health services, to describes how we could work better together to improve practice, services and outcomes across North of Tyne.

Project Summary

North of Tyne councils have a track record of close collaboration; our recently announced devolution agreement will radically transform the local economy and our local area. The three council’s have also agreed to explore opportunities for greater collaboration across services for children, young people and families. We will be looking for opportunities that improve outcomes, respond to the unprecedented financial challenge that we face, and ensure that children and young people from across North of Tyne are fully able to participate in and benefit from the planned economic opportunities in adulthood. This work will begin in January 2018.
